On the afternoon of April 23, 2019, the eighty-nine Luojia Lecture Series on Environmental Law was held in classroom 325 of the law school. This lecture was fortunate enough to invite Prof. Xu Xiangmin from Zhejiang Gongshang University. The theme of the lecture is “the boundary of environmental law”.

This lecture was presided over by Prof. Qin Tianbao, director of RIEL. Prof. Ke Jian and RIEL students attended the lecture. At the beginning, Prof. Qin Tianbao gave a brief introduction to the research experience and academic thought of Prof. Xu.

Prof. Xu reviewed the historical process of the emergence and development of environmental law and analyzed the essential characteristics of environmental law. Later on, Prof. Xu took “environmental damage prevention” as the standard and elaborated the boundary of environmental law which constructed the panorama of environmental law. Afterwards, Prof. Qin and Prof. Ke made a brief summary and comment on the content of the lecture. Prof. Qin pointed out that Prof. Xu’s lecture provides a useful way to construct the system of environmental law. Prof. Ke emphasized that the recognition of a discipline in society is closely related to its own discourse system and self-consistency of theories.

At the end of lecture, Prof. Qin and Prof. Ke presented the certificate to Prof. Xu for providing a wonderful lecture. The eighty-nine Luojia Lecture Series on Environmental Law ended in a warm and relax atmosphere.
