On
the evening of October 19, 2017, at the 446 conference room of the law school,
the eighteenth lecture of RIEL Alumni Salon was held. This Salon was lucky
enough to have RIEL master student in 1999 Wan Jinbo back. He brought a salon entitled
"the influence and policy process of think tank". The Alumni Salon was
presided over by RIEL Associate Prof. Luo Ji, Dr. Yuan Xiu from think-tank research
team and RIEL doctoral and master students took part in the salon.
At
the beginning of the salon, Associate Prof. Luo Ji introduced the personal
experience of Dr. Wan Jinbo. After a brief introduction to the international
background and domestic background of the think tank, Dr Wan jinbo is divided his
lecture into four parts. In the first place, Dr Wan Jinbo explained the
connotation and theoretical understanding of the think tank. Then, Dr Wan Jinbo
explained the theoretical understanding of the policy process, and he futher
analyzed the case of the American academy of sciences' participation in the
policy process. In the end, Dr Wan Jinbo Shared his views and policy
implications on the path of influence of think tanks.
In the end of the salon, Associate Prof. Luo Ji summed up the lecture. She pointed out the importance of targeting the audience, which is important for us to make all kinds of decisions in the future. The emphasis on the literature retrieval ability of students is also remarkable. In the process of the lecture, students actively expressed doubt, Associate Prof. of Luo Ji, Dr. Wan Jinbo discussed with students present, the salon ended smoothly in warm and relaxed atmosphere.
