Teachers of RIEL attend SPC Workshop on Advance of Environmental and Resources Trials

In the morning of July 27, the Supreme People's Court held a seminar on promoting the environmental and resource trials, Prof. Wang Shuyi, the director of the SPC Theory Research Base of Environmental and Resources Justice, and Prof. Qin Tianbao, Prof. Lv Zhongmei, Prof. Wang Jin, Prof. Qiu Qiu, Lawyer Cai Xueen and Lawyer Zou Kun were invited.

Firstly, the Supreme People’s Court published the “Environmental and Resources Trial of China” (White Paper). Prof. Lv Zhongmei introduced the project of “Research on Environmental Justice Specialization”. Wang Xuguang, the vice president of SPC Environmental and Resources Tribunal, briefed the two-year work of the tribunal since its establishment. Next, Prof. Wang Shuyi, Prof. Lv Zhongmei and Dr. Cai Xueen made speeches respectively on the case scope of foreign environmental tribunals, the practice orientation of environmental justice specialization, and the recommendations of environmental and resources trials.  

Finally, Zhou Qiang, the president of the Supreme People 's Court made an important speech, stressing that promoting the ecological civilization construction and green development is of great significance. We must strengthen the reform and exploration, and further promote the specialization of environmental and resources trials, and continuously improve the environmental justice capacity.
