The opening ceremony and symposium of SPC Research Base of Environment and Resources Judicial Theory held in RIEL

On November 27, 2015, the opening ceremony of SPC Research Base of Environment and Resources Judicial Theory and symposium on environmental right and civil law were successfully held in Room 325, school of law.

At 9 AM, the cooperation framework agreement was signed by Wang Xuguang, the deputy chief judge of SPC environment and resources court, and Xiao Yongping, the dean of law school, WHU. And the deputy president of SPC Jiang Bixin and principal of WHU Li Xiaohong inaugurated the research base. After the opening ceremony, the symposium began, which was also the 5^th Luojia Forum on Environmental Law. This symposium was divided into three parts, first of which was hosted by the new director of research base Prof. Wang Shuyi. Jiang Bixin gave a speech regarding the greenization of civil law which should be highly valued. The participants also talked about modern environmental judicial concept, specialization and integration of environmental justice, environmental rights, and other hot topics.

It is said that WHU is second research base co-established by SPC environment and resources court and universities, following the research base in Renmin University of China, which has a profound significance to ecological civilization construction and talents training of environmental law.
