Teachers and alumni of RIEL attend 1^st National Working Conference on Trial of Environment & Resources

On November 7, 2015, the 1st National Working Conference on Trial of Environment & Resources was held in Gutian, Fujian. Prof. Wang Shuyi, Alumni Prof. Lv Zhongmei and Dr. Cai Xueen was invited.

The vice-president of the supreme people’s court Jiang Bixin attended the conference and gave a speech, he recalled the nationwide trials of environment and resources since 2014 and pointed out the existing problems. Jiang clearly put forward a “green development” concept of environmental justice to strengthen the judicial work of environment and resources, and also suggested that vigorously promote trial specialization of environment and resources.

Next, several courts from Fujian, Guizhou, Yunnan, Shandong and other provinces and cities exchanged experiences on ecological justice. The SPC decided to set up the first batch of practical bases, further exploring the improvement and specialization of environmental trial.
